How we help protect the environment
As a team we love being outdoors and sharing this passion with our clients. As Birchwood has grown, we have built sustainability into our business to protect the environment we all share and always take the time to consider the environmental impact of our jobs, no matter their size.
Our practises include
- Use of battery operated tools rather than petrol
- Use of bio chain oil and green two stroke fuels to reduce environmental impact
- Careful environmental consideration
- Non-chemical solutions
- Sourcing trees, plants and materials locally where possible
As part of our arboricultural service, we try to keep as many trees as possible and find the best ways to manage them. If this isn’t possible, we will always recommend planting a new tree in place of any that have been felled.
Across all of our services we try to use environmentally friendly equipment where possible such as battery hedge cutters. These reduce the level of fumes going into the atmosphere compared to petrol powered tools, and have the added benefit of being quieter so that noise pollution is kept to a minimum.
